About me...
Marcus Dawson is a North Carolina collage artist whose mission is to spread love and light through analog collage. What started off as a self-care practice, became his passion for creating unique art with paper that included bright colors and vibrant visual storytelling. He often incorporates images of people of color among whimsical landscapes dotted with colorful flowers, rolling hills, and the heavens above. His work has been featured in Suboart Magazine, Wilder Collage, Collage Care: The Method. Marcus currently has work displayed at 210 Princess St Gallery downtown Wilmington, NC in his latest exhibition "Blooming in Plain Sight".

As artists we all have goals for the work we create and share. I regard an image a success if it brings even a small measure of wonder and joy to those who see it. Defining myself as a particular type of photographer is impossible as every moment behind the lens offers an opportunity to see the world from a different point of view. My inspiration? Color, shape, design and the most delightful factor of all ~ fun!
